Mercury goes into retrograde on July 18, 2025, and goes direct (AKA\u2026 not retrograde) on August 11, 2025. However, as with any retrograde period, there are \u201cshadow\u201d periods that exist before and after the official retrograde. Things might still go astrologically awry then, too. The full shadow period of Mercury\u2019s retrograde started on June 30. So, perhaps a better question is: When isn\u2019t Mercury in retrograde?<\/p>\n

What is the impact of Mercury retrograde?<\/h2>\n

Mercury always rules communication, so with the amount of retrogrades we experience, I probably don\u2019t need to tell you to watch out for communication issues. Double-check who you\u2019re sending texts to, do a read-through of that email to your boss, and try to explain yourself clearly. This retrograde, in particular, with Venus in Gemini, may also have your ex-situationship trying to slide back into your messages. Uranus is also moving into Gemini after 84 years, and Neptune and Saturn are also retrograding in Aries.<\/p>\n
